A Better Life
News 2011
Street children can go to the farm for a short period of time to learn herding, milking, farming and social skills. Your kind donations went towards a tractor plough which was greatly needed to progress forward.
We held our 3rd ‘Wacky Races’ event now sponsored by Hill Farm Garage and Mercedes-
Lastly, thanks to one of our sponsors who wish to remain anonymous, we are excited to announce that we are now supporting a children’s orphanage run by the state of Ulaanbaatar. When Sarra visited the orphanage, she found the building in which the children live, to be in extremely poor condition with part of the roof in the building, near to collapse. Our funding will fix this serious problem and building work is in progress. The Director is delighted with the donation and has sent a letter of gratitude to us.
So, once again, we thank all ‘A Better Life’ supporters. Thank you to those that give their precious time and to those that donate…without you, all this would not be possible!

2011 has been another fantastic year for ‘A Better Life’, a year where we stretched our donations to great use. Our wonderful Mongolian team worker Saara, oversaw our projects in Mongolia, saving the charity a great deal of money and time. A huge WELL DONE to Sarra for her hard work, dedication and organisational skills.
We spent many, many hours pondering over a suitable family to help this year and with a very generous donation from Inner Wheel & Rotary Winchester, we narrowed it down to an extraordinary family that struggle with their day to day lives more than we could ever begin to imagine. Luvsanjav lost his beloved wife a year ago leaving two very young sons: Temuujin and Temuulen. Luvsanjav works in construction and is keen for his boys to have an education as well as provide for his young boys. For many years they have lived in a worn, torn and shabby Ger that had little protection from the harsh winters. ‘A Better Life’ decided to help by providing a new Ger with furniture and a stove for cooking and warmth for the winter. Luvsanjav and his boys are now living happily in their new home, looking forward to their future ahead and both boys have started school. Thank you to Maureen & Richard Chisnell, joint presidents of Inner Wheel & Rotary Winchester for their enthusiasm and support during 2011.
This year we also managed to support our ongoing Farm project which is just outside the city managed by World Vision UB.
